The TurboHarp / ELX is a Richter (aka diatonic) harp that
incorporates twenty individual pickups - one for each reed.
While the full capabilities and musical possibilities have yet to be explored,
some advantages of the ELX are:
Allows you to patch different effects on bass and treble
octaves of harp, such as: delay / reverb on low end and distortion on high end, or
chorus on low end and flanger on high end.
Enables you to distribute different notes to different channels, creating
stereo or 3-D mixing effects.
blow notes on left channel, draw on right
low notes on left, high on right
low on front speakers, high in rear, etc..
Allows you to individually balance levels of each reed or contour levels
from low to high end.
Avoids feedback by eliminating acoustical coupling between speaker and
pickup.
Project Status: Commercial
prototype completed. Currently seeking investors or industrial partners.
